The American Legion Auxiliary is hosting an essay contest for students in grades 7 through 12 based on the topic  “How can we address and prevent veteran homelessness in our communities?” The essay should be mailed to Shirley Boord by March 1st, 2019.

Categories for this essay includes grades 7 and 8 with a 350-400 word requirement, grades 9 and 10 with a 450-500 word requirement, and a grade 11 and 12 age group, also with a 450-500 word requirement.

A winner from each category will be selected to win $50, and another $50 will be donated in the winner’s name to the Children of Warriors National presidents’ Scholarship fund.
