Athlete Biography- Nicole Venick

Nicole Venick is a junior and a member of the Jefferson-Morgan Varsity Girls’ Basketball team.

“I play mostly for fun, but winning is always a bonus,” said Nicole Venick.

Her hardest opponent to go against, but the whole team, is California. Nicole will most likely do better against them in away matches because there is not as much pressure. The pressure comes from the crowd at home games because so many people watching the game. During the off-season Nicole prepared by practicing outside twice a week and lifting weights.So far through 10 years of playing basketball, Nicole has lettered 2 years in varsity. She is the point guard on the team, and her uniform number is 33. Last season, she had 133 points made, 49 assists, 53 rebounds, and 46 free throw shots made. This season she is looking to bettering herself as a player, and growing as a team.

“My inspiration comes from my love for the game, and it drives me to do well,” said Nicole Venick.

Steve Nash is Nicole’s favorite professional basketball player. Basketball is her favorite sport by far, and she wants to continue doing it as a hobby in the future. Her sources of support can be found from many places. Her go to source of support on the team is Kayla Yorko, she helps her out on her good and bad days, and helps with anything basketball related. Nicole’s biggest fan is her mom and shows up to every home and away game that she is able to make it to.
