Katie Wolfe – Basketball

Katey Wolfe is a freshman and she plays for the Jefferson-Morgan Basketball Team.

Katey has been playing basketball for 7 years. Katey hasn’t lettered yet because she’s only a freshman. She had other members in her family that also played basketball. “My brother Josh played basketball so I wanted to do the same because I look up to him,” said Katey. Inspiration is a major key in playing basketball. “I love being active and hearing the crowd cheering for you every time you do something good. Nothing beats that feeling,” said Katey.

Katey wears number 23 on the basketball court. Her position is a forward/shooting guard. Her biggest fan on and off the court is her mom. The last game Katey played, she scored 5 points. When Katey played last year, they did not take stats. Katey loves being on the Jefferson-Morgan Basketball Team. She’s looking forward to the best year with the best team she’s ever had. Katey feels that California High School is their toughest opponent. She also feels that home games are better than away games because she loves when the crowd cheers for the team.

Katey prepares in the offseason. “I play other sports too, but I still manage to practice in the offseason by participating on other leagues,” said Katey. Her go to person is Kayla Yorko. Katey believes that she cannot give underclassmen advice because she is an underclassman and she doesn’t know. She has a favorite professional player that she looks up to. “My favorite professional basketball player is LeBron James. He never gives up, no matter what the case may be. We play the same position and we wear the same number on the court. He once said “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” That is a quote by him that motivates me,” said Katey.

Good Luck to Katey in the rest of the season!
