In the beginning of the 2019 softball season, the Rockets have pulled ahead in their section. They are currently 3-1 in their conference although they lost twice in their exhibition games against Bentworth and Brownsville. The Rockets are in Section 2 (1A.) There are five other teams in their section; Mapletown, West Greene, Avella, Monessen, and California. The Rockets’ head coach is Rich Rush and the assistant coaches are Mike Lesko, Jake Rush, and Jim Wood.

So far the Rockets have beat Monessen (13-2,) Avella (10-5,) and California (15-0.) They have lost one section game to West Greene (10-1.) There are a total of seven section games remaining this season. Each time in the section must play twice; one game is at home and the other is an away game. The last section game is on May 1st against Mapletown. The season officially ends on May 2nd when they have an exhibition game against Fort Cherry.

In the 2017-2018 season, the Rockets went 4-6 in  their section; in the 2016-2017 season, they only had one win throughout the year, but in the 2014-2015 season the Rockets only had one loss and toppled their section.

Caitlyn Dugan, a pitcher and a sophomore, has stated that “We have improved so much over this year, and we are starting to gain confidence in ourselves because we are beating the teams we need to beat.” The team is staying positive and hopeful for this current season.
