Abigail Ozohonish – Athlete Biography
Abigail Ozohonish is a sophomore and a member of the rifle team.
Ozohonish enjoys rifle being a co-ed sport with Waynesburg because she gets to meet new people. She joined the team her freshman year because she wanted to follow in her sister’s footsteps.
“My sister was good at rifle, so I decided to join the team to continue our tradition,” said Ozohonish.
Ozohonish enjoys competing against West Greene the most out of all competitors. Her team’s goal this season is to become section champions. She feels this can be completed if everyone does the best to their ability.
Ozohonish also has a personal goal for the team. “While the team goal is to be section champs, my personal goal is to not drop a point throughout the season,” said Ozohonish.
Ozohonish’s favorite memory was when she shot her first 100 10x during a match. She feels rifle is a rewarding sport, but what she feels is the most rewarding about it is making it to WPIALs and individuals.
“To any young players considering joining the team in high school, I would tell them to not give up,” said Ozohonish. “You have to practice to become better.”
