The most important skill that students need to have before graduation is presentation and conversation skills.

Presentation is important because in college, and in life especially, there will be times when a person is asked to present something. Whether it is a report that needs presented in front of the class or if it is something that needs presented at a job interview. Regardless of what the situation is, every person needs to know how to be a good presenter. For example, if one person went to a job interview and presented their idea with great skill and did not make many mistakes, they would have a great chance of getting the job compared to someone who could not present the idea, due to lack of skill in that category. Conversation skill is just as, if not more, important. Being able to carry on a conversation is imperative to being successful. Not many people want to talk to people who respond back with one word answers. Public speaking classes are really good at preparing students for both of these topics, because they have to get up in front of the class to do their presentation.

So, after doing it for a while, students will improve more and more and eventually will not have to worry about getting up in front of a group of people to do this kind of stuff. A student can get good grades, but that will only get them so far if they can not present in front of a group of people or be able to carry on a conversation.
