Athlete Article – Casey Wilson

Casey Wilson is a freshman and a forward and shooting guard for the boys basketball team.

Casey has played basketball for seven years now. There is a long line of basketball players in his family. When asked about who all in his family had played, he responded with, “My grandpa, and all of my cousins play too.” His grandpa is also his inspiration for playing. His favorite memory from this sport is shooting a half court shot and sinking it. That caused the team to gain another three points.

Casey spends time preparing in the off season. He spends a lot of his time participating in open gym and shooting around. Casey says that the team’s biggest rival is Carmichaels. Between, home and away games, he prefers home games because the team has a large student section that cheers for them. Caseys jersey number is 21.

Casey is looking forward to winning every game in this upcoming season. He started playing this sport in the first place because he liked playing quite a lot. Younger players on the team typically have a go-to person on the team. Casey’s go-to person is Rece Henneman. In the last game, Casey scored a total of twelve points. Advice that he would like to give to his underclass teammates is to “Play hard and take every practice seriously.”

I would like to wish Casey and the boys basketball team good luck with the upcoming season. Casey wishes to play like his favorite professional basketball player Kevin Durant. Kevin, according to Casey is a very inspirational player and plays the sport hard and doesn’t stop. I hope Casey achieves all that he would like to.
