New Year, New Start

Ski season is coming to an end as the winter dies down. After the season is over its time to put the skis away till next year and focus on some spring action. Motocross season is coming up and I am excited as ever. This year I am working hard and I hope to see some improvement from last year. Motocross season will last all the way through spring, summer, and fall. The races will occur every other week and in different places.

My favorite track to race at is High Point Raceway. This track is one of the local tracks in Pa and most certainly the nicest. The endurance a rider has to face is intense. The jumps are big and the track is long. It takes everything to keep a lead and be smooth while riding. A rider’s body is worked to the max, but this is a popular event. Pro racers come to this track each year to do battle. A lot of racers love this track because of the history behind it and because it was the start of the pro national. A win at this track is a huge honor.

I had my battles last year at High Point. I moved up a class so the racing was more intense and harder. Riding with riders who are more experienced than me teaches me some things. I learn the fast lines and I am pushed to keep up with them, making me faster.  I am forced to ride outside of my comfort zone, and sometimes it can be challenging, but if I ride smart I will be okay.

The goals I set for myself this year are to be in the top five of my class, and make my way to the top. I want to overcome my fears of some of the jumps by attempting them. This will make my riding smooth and faster. To be at the top I have to ride hard and train hard.
