Keep Moving Forward
Not giving up is an important factor when trying to reach a goal. If everyone gave up then no goals would ever be reached. Everyone has to fail sometime in order to learn. Failing is a good thing sometimes because it will teach someone not to do it again. I had to bounce back over the weekend and it made me stronger and made me want to keep trying.
Over the weekend I went to High Point raceway. There is a jump there that I have been scared to do for so long because it is very big and outside of my comfort zone. My buddy rode in front of me and showed me how fast I had to hit the jump as well as where to do it. After watching him I made an attempt myself. I came up short on the jump and luckily was able to save it and not wreck. Instead of giving up and taking the safe ride out, I tried the jump again on the next lap. This time as I approached it I went faster and positioned my body in a different way on the bike. As I came over the jump I landed nicely and my goal was reached.
This is not my only time that I had to bounce back. In the first moto I took a bad crash. I was knocked out and my bike was damaged. The EMS crew had to help me off of the track, and take me to the trailer to give me a checkup to make sure I was okay. I walked off of the track with only a couple bruises and scrapes. I was lucky because as hard as I hit the ground more should have been done. My bike on the other hand had a broken fuel tank, my side panels were ripped off, and my throttle tube was broke in half.
Even though this bad crash happened it makes me want to keep trying and get back at it. I have not reached my goals yet and I will keep trying as long as I can. I can learn from what had happened and try harder next time.
