Josh Clites – Athlete Biography

Josh Clites is a freshman and a participant on the Jefferson-Morgan track team.

Josh is motivated to participate in track because of Usain Bolt. He is his favorite professional track participant. “Usain Bolt is extremely fast and seems like a really nice guy, that’s why he inspires me,” said Josh Clites. Josh’s biggest fan is his mom, she will go to every single track meet to make sure she is there to cheer him on to the finish line. If Josh needs advice for anything he goes to the coach Mr. Friend.

Josh’s likes the fact that he gets to do track with all with his friends. He enjoys being able to run and socialize with them after school. His favorite events to participate in are the one mile run and 800 meter run. Josh’s best memory so far is being able to participate in his very first track meet.  Josh’s worst memory, however, is the first day of conditioning where he felt very sore and tired afterwards.

Due to his worst memory, Josh’s advice for someone who would want to participate in track next year is to make sure you are in shape before conditioning starts.  “To prepare in the off-season, I ran almost daily and occasionally lifted weights,” said Josh Clites. He also finds placing in the event in a track meet very rewarding. Josh’s goals this season is to letter in track.

Josh is excited to continue his first season in track and looks forward to more track meets. He enjoys track a lot and plans to keep participating in it.
