Chase Kovalchek is a junior and is on the J-M track team.

Chase participates on the track team at Jefferson-Morgan. Events that he participates in includes 300 meter hurdles, 100 meter hurdles, and the long jump.  Chase likes to participate. He said, “I enjoy competitively running against others.” Chase has always wanted to participate in track. He has lettered once already.

Chase has participated in track for three years so far. He does not have any superstitions or rituals. Chase enjoys cheering his teammates on at the meets. The team has changed from last season by having a large increase in underclassmen said Chase.

Chase hopes for the team to try their best and just enjoy the season. One of his favorite memories from the season is cheering his teammates on during the meets. He is currently working on trying to beat his current times. Chase said, “Keep a positive mind and a healthy lifestyle” when asked what advice he had for upcoming athletes. When asked who his inspiration is, Chase said that it would have to be his mother.

Chase plans to participate in track again next year. I would like to wish Chase and the rest of the Jefferson-Morgan track team luck in their upcoming meets. I hope Chase achieves all that he would like.
