Michael Metz – Athlete Biography
Michael Metz is a junior on the Jefferson-Morgan track team.
Michael has been participating in track for two years and lettered in his sophomore year. Michael participates in the 1600 meter run, 800 meter run, and the 4 x 400 meter relay. “Being able to better myself and help improve my overall physical health is my favorite thing about track.” He wishes to participate in track in his senior year and maybe even participate in college.
Michael’s best performance was against Frazier where he finished first in the 110 meter hurdles. When asked what his favorite memory Michael said, “last year against West Greene, I got second place in the 1600 meter run and I also qualified for sections that day.” Michael’s biggest hope for this year is to learn more about the events and get better at them. He finds the most difficult aspect of track is competing with better or more experienced people.
When asked what he found to be the most enjoyable aspect of track he said, “hanging with friends and helping others grow in experience.” as a junior, Michael has a big inspiration for the freshman and even some of the sophomores. “My advice for younger students wanting to participate is train before the season. get better and improve yourself. it will make the season go by easier and faster.” is what Michaels advice for the other students is.
Good luck to Michael in the upcoming season!
