Riley Payo – Athlete Biography
Riley Payo is a freshman on the Jefferson Morgan track team.
This is Riley’s first year participating in high school track. When asked what she found to be the most difficult aspect of track she said, “the hardest part of track has to be learning how all the events work. If you are new it can be really challenging.” Riley enjoys track because she likes to run and hanging out with and making new friends.
Riley’s biggest goal for this year is to improve on all of her events especially the 400 meter run. “My favorite memory of this year so far is when our relay team worked together and got our personal best.”
Even though Riley just started she has already began improving. While she was at South Moreland, she improved on her 300 meter hurdles and got her fastest time yet. When asked if she has any words of wisdom for the other student athletes she said, “make sure you are prepared to work hard with your team. Eat healthy and be active. Push yourself to be better and don’t give up.”
Good luck to Riley in the upcoming season!
