Healthy Choices in School

Jefferson Morgan allows students to select healthy lunch choices.

Lunch at our school offers many healthy choices to students. The cafeteria has a salad bar for students to use to be able to eat healthily. Also you get the chance to take fruits or other healthy snacks that the cafeteria may have that day. “I enjoy the various amounts of fruit, it leads me in a healthy path,” Anna Mattish said. Also, our cafeteria uses whole-grain bread for all sandwiches.

Students may disagree with this. Students, most of the time, are against having things such as whole-grain bread. Also they will not pick up any of the healthy option such as fruit for lunch. However, if they disagree with this, they can simply ignore the choices with healthy stuff they don’t like, and eat how they normally do. This will benefit the students who like to eat healthy.

Some students may think we need more choices. “I think we need more healthy things to be able to choose from,” said Riley Payo. Some students may find it more convenient if they add more healthy things. This may save them more money as well because they pack their lunches with healthy food to bring to school. Also, some students may find that their lunch is better because they enjoy the tastes of healthy foods as well.

Adding more healthy choices to our school lunches would be a good choice overall. The reasons being because if a student wants to eat healthy then they can, but if they do not they can simply ignore the choices. This will benefit our school a lot.
