Healthy Eating

Healthy eating choices are  in today’s society, for students to choose from whether it is a public or private school.

At Jefferson- Morgan, students have a wide variety of healthy food choices. Many of those choices include salads, fruit products, whole grain bread, yogurts, and different varieties of milk. Last year the students had the choice to purchase Rice Krispy Treats to eat, but those Rice Krispy Treats were replaced by the whole grain treats. Another example is the Sun Chip bags last year were large and had a fair amount of chips in the bag, however this year those bags were replaced by smaller bags with pretzels included. After asking Jacob if the school has healthy choices for you at lunch he said “They have a whole bunch of different choices for you,”.

Many students don’t usually focus on healthy eating habits, and don’t eat the healthy food the school offers. Students often complain how healthy school lunches are, and complain about the healthy substitutes, and how bad they taste. However, in reality. the lunches honestly don’t taste awful and could help you out in the long run.

Many other students embrace these healthy standards set by the nation for their schools, and use healthy eating habits to better their life and health. I asked Patrick if he ate the school provided salads and fruits he provided me with this response “Yes I do eat a salad and provided fruit the school puts out”.

The nation’s healthy eating system seems to be working out for the students and the country. Many students see the variety of food they are supplied with and accept to eat healthy.
