Working on the Homecoming Program
For the past week and a half I have been working on the homecoming program for 2016-2017 for Mrs. Fulks. I didn’t think it would actually take as long as it does just to make a little 4 page program. Since I was Mrs. Fulks aide she had asked if I would want to create it this year. I was actually really surprised that she had asked me out of everyone.
I started working on the program and I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I didn’t know how to start or to even choose a layout for it. I was lucky enough to have a practice one to look at and compare. Since Homecoming was during the fall I thought putting leaves on the layout would tie in with everything. Then I had to read all the candidates papers to write a brief description of those girls and the bearers. That was a challenge because I didn’t know exactly how to word it properly for it to sounds right. It turns out all the writing I did for the girls was changed because Mrs. Fulks had already done the descriptions for the girls and bearers. I was a little annoyed since I took my time to make everything look neat. I could have saved so much time if she would have told me but she just wanted me to have some practice.
Once I added the pictures of everyone and the layouts it was finished. It was printed so I had to go back and fix a few of my errors. After that was done, I had to print out 200 copies of the homecoming program and had to fold them all. I spent a period and a half just folding them correctly. Overall it was a great experience making the program and I was just so thrilled to be about of it this year. If next year, Mrs. Fulks asks you to create the program take the opportunity. It’s worth it, plus your name is on the back of every copy.
