Catherine Diamond has been selected as a recipient of the NMSI Stem Star Award. Jefferson-Morgan School District is in its third year of partnership with The National Math and Science Initiative.

A daughter of Anna and Ray Diamond of Waynesburg, Diamond is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School.

Diamond is a three-year contributor for The Rocket Reporter and currently serves as Editor-in-chief.  She is a three-year member of National Honor Society, a three-year member of Leo Club, and a member of SADD.  She was a two-year member of the softball team and a one-year member of the basketball team.

Diamond was a NMSI Stem Star Award recipient in 2022.  Recently she was named Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club December Student of the Month.

“I am enrolled in AP courses because they are challenging, and they push me to do more enriching work,” said Diamond.

Diamond is enrolled in AP Statistics and AP English Literature.

After high school, Diamond will attend WVU to major in nursing.
