Jakob Bissett is a junior and plays multiple positions as a 3^rd baseman, pitcher, and catcher for the baseball team.

Jakob has been involved with this sport for several years. “I have played this sport for twelve years. This is my third year playing in high school. No one really inspired me to play this sport. I just took an interest to it and stuck with it,” says Bissett.

Jakob is hoping that the team can accomplish making it to WPIAL playoffs this year. His favorite memory so far from baseball is making the playoffs his freshman year. It is one of the more fun times during his baseball career. Jakob has goals for his team and for just himself. This season he plans on fixing some of the mistakes he has made in the past seasons.

“Playing baseball has taught me to learn from my mistakes if I want to get better. I hope to improve on everything possible. I hopefully will continue to play baseball after high school. I would encourage others to work hard and listen to their coaches if they want to do well in this sport,” says Bissett. Hard work and the ability to improve is an important quality to have as an athlete.

This is Jakob’s third year of playing. Luckily he still has one more year left. Best of luck in the upcoming season.
