Isaac Dean – Athlete Biography

Isaac Dean is number 45 on the Jefferson Morgan Baseball team. His normal position is catcher and occasionally you will see him on 3rd.  Dean has played Baseball for 11 years and this will be his second year of playing in high school.

Along with his dad and uncle, Dean loves the sport. “Baseball is fun for me, and I love the complexities of being a catcher and a hitter.” His biggest accomplishment so far this year is the boys scrimmage against Charleroi. “I didn’t hit very well that game, but I still did very well defensively.”

Isaac has high hopes for the team this year.  “I want us to be section champs, states champs, and WPIAL champs. I think we are more than capable of achieving this if we work together as a team. We work much harder at practices this year and have matured a lot,” Dean says. Issac enjoys being on a team with a group of guys that will work hard to achieve their goals. “Everyone contributes and benefits the team in different ways. For example I hit well and I am confident in my ability to throw people out as a catcher.”

“I prepare for the season by running in the fall and summer almost every day. I lift in the winter and right before the season begins I will start to practice my throwing,” Dean said.  Isaac believes he still needs to work on his mental game and running but he’s came along way.  “I hope all of my work will play off and I can accomplish my goals I have for this season.  I want to accomplish a 500 batting average and 2 home runs,” Says Dean. Isaac looks up to Dereck Jeter. He believes he is an inspiration on and off the field.

Isaac is really looking forward to his bus rides with Dylan Davis and hopefully lettering for his 2nd time. He is ready for the new season and is excited for making new memories and having a good season with his team.
