Zach Shaffer is a junior and a center and defensive end for the football team.

This season, Zach would like to specifically achieve having multiple sack games. Zach has two positions including center and defensive end. When asked what he thought was the hardest part of this sport, he replied with, “For me, I think that the hardest part is the mental aspect. It can be hard to keep your focus.” He thinks that the team will do very well this season as long as the team keeps fighting hard. Zach is looking forward to the upcoming season.
Zach has played in this sport for many years including middle school. To this date, he has played for a total of four years. Zach said that he had first started playing football because he wanted to play football and have fun with it. Zach’s favorite memories all center around playing with his friends. Zach’s jersey number is sixty-five.
Zach’s favorite field is, the home field, Parker Field. Zach’s favorite team to play against is Carmichaels because it is always a high every game and everyone is intense. The teams’ biggest rival, according to Zach, is Avella. Also having to do with Avella is his favorite game. When asked about what his favorite game is, Zach said, “My favorite game is the game we played against Avella in the 2013 season. Even though we had lost, the energy was high and I had a lot of fun.” Advice that Zach has for upcoming athletes is to be dedicated and to never give up.
Zach hopes to be able to keep playing football after high school. Zach is looking forward to playing another year with his teammates. I’d like to wish Zach good luck with his upcoming season!
