Chase Kovalcheck is a senior and a member of the track team.

Kovalcheck has participated in track all four years of his high school career.

“I participate in the 100m high hurdles, 300m hurdles and the 4×400 relay. I really enjoy being around the people as well as competing against other talented runners,” Kovalcheck said.

Being apart of the track team can definitely be a tiring and stressful time. There are many challenging and exhausting aspects that come along with it.

“The most difficult part of track would definitely be gaining speed towards the end of the race,” Kovalcheck admitted.

When it comes to sports, there is always room for improvement somewhere.

“I feel I do the best at the 300m hurdles because I can keep a steady pace throughout the entire race, whereas I could use some improvement on my performance in the 110m hurdles because I lose speed before the last few hurdles,” said Kovalcheck.
As track season continues, Kovalcheck is very excited to keep participating in his events. Although he admits he could use improvement in some places, he is determined to get first overall in the 110m hurdles by the end of the season.
