Cancellations or Delays

When the one call goes out to a home that school has been cancelled or delayed, the majority of people seem to get happy and think of it as a vacation day. Little do they know, even if they are aware of the delay or cancellation, students still have to make that day up whether it may be Martin Luther King Day or a Spring break day. While it all may be great and relaxing in the moment, the days are tacked on at the end of the school year or take away days in your Spring break when students wish they were not in school. Having a delay or a cancellation at least once is nice because it does give everyone a chance to sleep a little longer before school but so much of it then you start to fall behind in class work. A delay is good once in a while because you still have your classes but they are all cut short on time. With classes being all cut short on time everyone as a whole starts to fall back. A cancellation is worse than having a delay because not only does that mean you have to make up that day but it makes it harder for teachers to follow up with their lessons meaning they have to continue to push back lessons. Everyone as a whole over time due to weather will start to hate cancellations and if you are a student who never likes to miss hates the thought of a school cancellation. All in all a delay is better than a school cancellation, you still get to go to school but have to stay up to date with what is happening in the classroom.
