Breann Newhouse is a junior and is a cheerleader.

Breann Newhouse is a very avid cheerleader, having participated for 7 years now. “Cheering at the Pitt Football games is by far my favorite memory,” said Breann. “It takes a lot of practice”. She needs inspiration to keep up the good cheerleading and be able to do well at Pitt. She finds learning the new stunts the hardest aspect of cheerleader.

Her inspiration comes from a few sources. Her main source of inspiration is Meredith who comes from the WVU cheerleading team. She stays for 3 days per year to help cheerleaders practice. Also some of her inspiration comes from her mom she was also a cheerleader when younger.

Aside from learning stunts which she finds difficult, she plays a certain role doing them as everyone else does. Her role is a flyer. Flyers get thrown into the air and get caught by the bases and backspot. “My favorite cheer is “Come on Crowd Yell JMS! J-M-S!,”” said Breann.
