Time Management- Molly Grandel

One important thing high school teaches a student is how to manage their time wisely. A student learns to find a balance between their school work and social life.

Victoria Conti uses a daily schedule to manage her time wisely. “I wake up, workout, get myself together, go to school and do my homework if there is any when I get home.’ Victoria thinks getting into a schedule where a student can dedicate a time and a place to do certain tasks will benefit them. “Setting aside a time every day for homework and on activities I enjoy keeps a healthy balance in my life and is very important to me.”

High school is about teaching students to use time wisely and to prioritize. If a student finds themselves with extra time in class or waiting for an appointment its wise for them to do their homework. If there is a test they must study for or a project that needs done its sometimes best they say no to going out with their friends to get it done. Prioritizing their work will then open up much time later for them to do other activities they enjoy.

Procrastinating on work will cause stress. “If I wait until the last minute, I always get stressed out. The work seems like too much and I feel like I will never have time to complete it”, replied Conti. Don’t procrastinate instead do your projects early and be done. “I usually turn off my phone, TV and go in a quiet room so nothing can distract me. “

Having a schedule, saying no, and creating a time and place for everything are things students learn in high school. Time management will make a student feel better by helping them achieve higher grades and be a lot less stressed.
