The time change on Sunday, November 2nd is a positive thing. We “fall back” an hour which means that we get to add an extra hour to our day on November 2nd. “Fall back” gives us the illusion that we are getting more sleep because most of us now get up with the sun rise. You may trick yourself into think you are getting more sleep because it is no longer pitch black when you wake up. The sun also sets sooner so you may get tired earlier because of the darkness, this could lead to more rest. The time change also signifies the change into a new season, fall! Yes, it is a little upsetting to know that our days will become shorter, but think of it this way. We can now enjoy all of the positive things fall brings to us, for example, the changing of the leaves making the outdoors even more beautiful. “Fall back” also reminds us of some of our favorite holidays are soon approaching, like Thanksgiving and Christmas. The changing of the seasons and fun holidays are one of the many things that “fall back” gets us prepared for.
