Respect

Respect is a thing that not many people have any more, whether is be towards a family member or an object, respect is hard to come by now a days

Having respect for someone, as defined by the dictionary, is the feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. Having respect for someone gives them the knowledge that they can trust that specific person. Having respect for someone after a person has lost their trust shows them that they still care and they just made a mistake. Personally, respect could equal trust, depending on how you look at it. “I think if you respect someone enough, then they could learn to trust you.” was Morgaine’s response when asked if respect could end in trust.

There are students in the school that disrespect the teachers and their personal belongings. This gives the teachers the right to not respect the students. The teacher more than likely spent their own money on what the student is destroying or defacing, but the student wouldn’t care. Students only do the things they do to disrespect you so they can look ‘cool’ in front of their friends, but it only ends up making them look bad in the teacher’s eyes. If students actually started to respect teachers then maybe they would be a little more lenient toward them.

When getting into a new relationship, it’s always good to make a good first impression, but even more important to show respect. Whether it is the parent’s son or daughter, you’ll have to show respect for them. If the parents get respected, then they will know you will respect their son or daughter. If the relationship ends badly then the respect will be gone because they trusted you to treat their son or daughter with respect. Morgaine was asked if having respect for her boyfriend’s parents made them seem more trustful of her, and she responded with, “At first they didn’t seem to take notice and were really protective of him, but I think that’s because they weren’t used to me. After a few more visits, they seemed to calm down and invited me to do ‘family’ activities with them.”

Regardless of what is being talked about, having respect for someone else and their things is important. It’ll show that person that they can trust that person while having little worry. Respect is an important part of a relationship, whether it be friendship or romance.
