Semester Changes

There are both negative and positive things about a student having a semester change in their schedule. A semester change could be negative if a student is switching from a class that they enjoy and do very well in to a class that they don’t do as well in or enjoy as much. Leaving a class they may actually enjoy for a class they don’t enjoy as much could increase their desire not to come to school. A student could start skipping school just to avoid that class. Adjusting to class is always tricky because they have to learn new material and adjust to a new schedule. Once someone already has a set schedule they follow everyday it could be very hard to adjust to a new one. These changes could affect a student’s grade point average negatively if they go from a class they have always got A’s in to one they aren’t very good at. Even though Changes in a semester can be bad they can also be positive. If someone would change out of a class they struggle in to a class that they do well in it would be a positive change. This could instead help a student get better grades and instead higher a student’s grade point average. They could also want to come to school more often because they actually enjoy their new class and are good at what they are being taught.
