Valentine’s Day Statistics

Valentine’s Day is a popular holiday among many countries around the world. The first time the holiday was associated with love is in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the Middle Ages when courtly love was very popular. In the 18th century England was involved in the occasion in which lovers presented each other flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards. In modern days, Valentine’s Day is still celebrated very similarly in the United States. Every year 141 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged, with over 50% of those being purchased only 6 days before Valentine’s Day.  This shows that the holiday is full of procrastinators.
