Different Ways

The new scheduling system at Jefferson Morgan is definitely different to the students. The old system involved the students getting a sheet of paper with a few blank spaces on it. The students would put down which classes they would like to take, while their teachers would decide where to put them in forms of math, science, social studies, and literature. The new scheduling system is supposed to go digital, but the question is when? The system could end up being beneficial for the students once they get used to it because it is a different thing. The only two downfalls to it are the students are trying to forge their teacher’s and parent’s signatures so they can get it turned in on time, and when circling a class you want it can get a bit messy when erasing and re-circling classes. Some teachers will ask the student which class they want to be in since they have to go to the teachers and get it signed by them, which doesn’t seem fair. Of course the teacher wouldn’t put them in a class that doesn’t seem fit for them if they ask for it, but it should be the teacher’s responsibility to decide where a student should go based on grades and behavior toward the subject. The new scheduling system might work out, but it might not, we won’t know until it is tested out for another year or two.
