Holden Headlee – Athlete Biography

Holden Headlee is a freshman on the Jefferson-Morgan baseball team.

“I’ve been playing baseball for 8 years now. My friends were going to play and it seemed like it would be fun so I decided that I was going to start playing,” said Holden. Holden has some useful advice for the underclassmen that are interested in playing baseball. “It is a fun sport. It takes some time to get used to everything when you first start. Also, don’t take it for granted, you have to earn everything when you’re on the field,” said Holden.

Holden feels that the most difficult aspect of baseball is knowing what to do next when you are on the field. A specific goal for him and the team are making playoffs this year. He is also looking forward to having a good season, making playoffs, bonding with his team, and getting better as a team. Holden says that he is not sure if he’s going to be playing in college or if he would like to go to a smaller college.

“I look up to Andrew McCutchen because not only is he a great baseball player, he is respectful to the game,” said Holden. “My best game was when we played Waynesburg for the second time of the year. It was the bottom of the seventh inning and I was up to bat and there was a runner on third. I swung and missed twice. Then, I hit a hard ground ball in the short-stop and 3rd base gap. I beat out the throw and we won the game,” said Holden.

Good luck to Holden in the upcoming season!
