Anna Mattish

Anna Mattish is a sophomore and plays outfield/second base for the Jefferson Morgan softball team

Anna Mattish has been playing softball for over seven years only missing her seventh and freshman year to focus on basketball she has yet to letter. When asked what she finds to be the most rewarding aspect of playing softball Anna said, “I enjoy playing a sport i love, i also like hanging out with my teammates.” Anna says the most difficult part of softball is batting and bunting she says, “You never know what the pitcher is going to throw at you and most pitchers have many different pitches in their arsenal.”

When asked what she enjoyed most about the sport Anna said, “I enjoy spending time with my team and bonding with them so it makes it easier to work on the field.” Anna’s biggest goal for this year is for her team to make sections. Anna is number 19 on the field. When asked if she was playing in college she said, “probably not. I’ll probably be attending the university of Kentucky to become a crime scene investigator.” She did attend a camp, but it was five years ago.

Anna’s best performance was in 5th grade, she played in a recreation league. and she hit the game winning RBI for her team. When asked what her favorite memory was she said, “My favorite memory was when we were 3-2 in South Carolina and we beat Brownsville and OLSH.” Anna’s last word of advice for other student athletes is to work hard and earn your spot. Don’t take it lightly and always show up and work hard at practice.
