Cameron Cernuska is a Junior and a member of the Varsity Golf Team.

This is Cameron’s first year on the golf team and he hopes to be able to letter at the end of the year. Cernuska has a few goals for both himself and his team that will help him achieve his goal of lettering.

“I really just want to improve personally which will help the team out,” said Cernuska. “We need to win more matches this year, more than last year at least,” added Cernuska.

Although Cernuska enjoys golfing there are a few ups and downs to the game. He enjoys being able to spend time with his team mates as they win matches, but knows he needs more work on his hitting and getting that first drive straight.

“I would have to say my favorite part about golf is definitely winning matches with my team, they’re amazing,” said Cernuska. “But, I would have to say that the hardest part of golf for me is hitting. I also need to work on just getting my first drive to be straight,” added Cernuska.

Cernuska has a few matches he is most looking forward to, but the one he really can’t wait for is golfing against Beth Center. Cernuska enjoys golfing against them because JM usually brings home the win and a win is always one of the best things in any sport.

“Even though I look forward to each one of my matches, I am really looking forward to the Beth Center match,” Cernuska said.

Everyone has their favorite place to play their sport at and for Cernuska his favorite course is Carmichaels.

“You know how baseball players have their favorite field to play on because the grass might be better than on another field and how football players have their favorite field because the turf might be in better condition than another field. Well, that’s what it is like for golfers, we have our favorites,” Cernuska said. “I love playing on the Carmichaels golf course because the grass is in really good condition.”

Cernuska plans on golfing for his senior year and hopes the team gets some more Freshman golfers next year. They can always use the help and Cernuska hopes to improve to help the team in a good way.
