Goggles are a key part when it comes to riding a dirt bike safely. Goggles will protect the rider from roost, rocks, tree branches, and anything that can harm the eyes while riding.

There are plenty types of goggles out there to fit different riders. Goggles like 100% brand, Oakley brand, and Scott brand are my personal choices. I have owned a pair of each goggle brand and was never disappointed with them. Goggles have two lenses and each lens serves a different purpose. The clear lens is pretty simple, it’s clear. The clear lens is normally great for an overcast day where the sun is not shinning and it’s darker than normal outside. A tinted lens is great for sunny days and they are really handy when the sun is going down because a tinted lens really helps block out the sun when it’s hitting you right in the face.

Tear offs are normally included with a pair of goggles also, that’s if the pair of goggles can have tear offs attached to them. Tear offs are thin clean film that goes over the main lens. They are useful on a muddy or rainy day when mud is flying and water lands of the goggles. Simply rip a tear off away from the goggles and there is a perfectly clean piece of film behind it. Tear offs also come in handy for keeping the main lens of the goggles scratch free. Instead of the branches hitting the main lens of the goggles, the tear offs are taking all of the impact and when a tear is so scratched up to where it’s hard to see through, simply rip it off for a new one.

Goggles are so important when riding a dirtbike. The tinted lenses and tear offs are not a needed piece of equipment but they do come in handy but what is really important is to make sure the goggles fit and they serve their purpose by protecting the eyes and face.
