Super+Bowl+Preview

Today is the day that I eat my words. The Patriots and the Falcons proved that they were the best teams in the NFL this past Sunday, soundly downing both the Steelers and the Packers in their respective conference championship games. Both teams put on a phenomenal offensive performance, proving why they deserve to represent their conferences in Super Bowl LI.

Super Bowl: Atlanta Falcons vs New England Patriots

Both quarterbacks shredded the defenses. Tom Brady found a new favorite target in the form of Chris Hogan. He threw for an astounding 384 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hogan had 180 yards and 2 touchdowns as veteran Julian Edelman added 118 yards and a touchdown. The New England Patriots became the first team to go to nine Super Bowls, and they have an opportunity to win their fifth. It will certainly be tough to stop what seems to be an unbeatable team who has been to the big game before.

On the flip side, the Atlanta Falcons dominated the Green Bay Packers. Potential MVP Matt Ryan threw for 392 yards and 4 touchdowns, finding his faithful target Julio Jones for 180 yards and 2 of his touchdowns. The Falcons proved that they are a legitimate force to win the big game this year. The Packers were quite the challenge, but the Patriots will be even tougher. This is the Falcons first Super Bowl appearance since the late 1990’s, so there will obviously be some nerves going into the biggest game of their lives.

Prediction: N/A

There will not be a prediction coming from me for the Super Bowl. Both teams are very capable to win this game. It should be a high scoring game as both offenses are extremely talented. However, both defenses are quite solid as well. It will be quite the interesting game to watch, so football fans will be able to enjoy one last great game before the season comes to an end. Either way, history will be made on Sunday, February 5 in Houston, Texas.
