On May 21 the marching band will be going on a band trip to Cedar Point for a competition. They will be taking the bus there and back. They should be back home by 2 AM the next day. One of the any marching band members is Emma Leathers, a fellow flute and piccolo player, whom I decided to interview.

Mrs. Svensson, Lori Pochron, Tammy Shaffer and various other band moms will be the ones who are chaperoning the event. “This year I feel like we have a chance of winning, everyone in the band are just so amazing,” said Leathers. The marching band will not only be performing there but will have a chance to ride some rides as well.

Marching band is a great opportunity here at Jefferson-Morgan for students. They get to go to competitions, go on trips and play at football games. “Marching band is pretty fun, especially performing in front of people and showing them what you really got,” Leathers said. She also said, “We’ve been to other places like Kennywood. We go there and be a part of the parade nearly every year.” Sounds fun right?

You can sign up for marching band next year with Mrs. Svensson. She also helps with the chorus. Good luck with your competition this year!!
