Holidays have always been very complicated for my brother and me. When we were younger, our parents divorced and that means we have more houses to visit on holidays. This makes these days very busy and sometimes even stressful.

On my dad’s side of the family, we have two houses to visit. My mother lives an hour away and we also have two houses to visit with her. It is very difficult to go to all of these houses and have enough time to enjoy without rushing.

As I have gotten older, things have only gotten more complicated because I try to find time to spend with my boyfriend as well. It is hard to find time for him, but it is also upsetting if I can not find any time. Usually, we see each other the day before and have our own little celebration.

Holidays are difficult, but Christmas is an entirely different story. Christmas involves so many more houses and more time. Though the holidays are rough and sometimes stressful, I would not want them any other way.

I believe that it is a blessing to have so much family on the holidays. People all across the nation spend the holidays alone and I know that I am very lucky to have the family that I do. No matter how many houses or families that are visited, it is important to remember that the holidays are all about family and spending quality time.
